The captain of the Danish ship Maersk Nexoe is interrogated today, Friday the 13th, in the Spanish court in Barcelona, accused of transporting weapons for Israel's genocide in Gaza.
This happens shortly after a new report by Mask off Maersk revealed that Maersk has shipped all wings for Israel’s F-35 fighter jets received since March 2022.
The interrogation was first planned on May 12, where the captains of both Maersk Nexoe and Maersk Detroit were summoned by the Spanish court to be questioned about their delivery of weapons to Israel’s genocide in Palestine over the past 20 months.
Both Maersk captains did not appear, despite one of the captains – from Maersk Nexoe – being docked in Barcelona harbor just 6 km from the courthouse when the hearing was scheduled to take place.
But today while Maersk Nexoe was again docked in Barcelona port, the captain of the heavily protested ship was present and the court proceedings could officially begin.
Alongside the court case, a new report from the network Mask Off Maersk – part of the Palestinian Youth Movement – reveals that since March 2022, Maersk has transported every single wing for F-35 fighter jets that have been shipped to Israel.
F-35 fighter jets play a central role in Israel’s genocide in Gaza, where the IOF has killed tens of thousands of Palestinian children and civilians and destroyed apartment blocks and civilian infrastructure, including more than 90% of all schools and educational institutions.
The report further uncovers:
"Between 30 December 2019, and 28 January 2025, Maersk facilitated at least 1,009 shipments totaling more than 15.1 million lbs of military goods tied to global F-35 supply chains."
