Zekiye Kocarslan is an Istanbul based jewellery designer. Her jewellery, created by hand, attracts praise for its simplicity of form and spontaneousness. Her brand Zeckie has the vision of cultivating antique oriental motifs with postmodern materials and trends. Her design is a new interpretation of Artdeco with the geometric forms, and Pop-Art style animal figures. Birds and owls are her favorite figures. Square rings are her indispensable, geometric forms of her identification.
Graduated from a French school, Notre Dame de Sion, Zekiye received her university degree in Media Communications at the French Galatasaray University in Istanbul. Subsequently she attended Marangoni School of Design in Milan, where she specialized on accessories. She also worked at Urbano, a jewellery store in Milan. She collaborated with Davide de Paoli, Italian sculptor and jewellery designer.
Back to Turkey, she started making her first jewellery collection and selling first at Milan. She has opened her first boutique after presenting her design at Sieraad Jewellery Fair (2008).
Besides the shop, the brand Zeckie meets different client base like Istanbul Modern Museum Shop, Beymen Stores and Colette in Paris.
